![]() ![]() ![]() I wish the games of the former games would have been better for them to continue to develop games in that direction instead of. Yes, it is a shame that the sales of Prey and Dishonored 2 (after it was fixed) were not accordingly to the quality of these games. they could lose out on 2 projects at max, but other then that, they are pretty much doomed. judging by their sales as well as development costs, they can't afford to have another failure. I was hoping to say something somewhat positive about the studio, but it ain't looking good at all. CD Projekt Red would also be interesting. as long as it isn't Ubisoft or BioWare, then it should be in good hands. maybe the developers of Deus Ex? that'll be interesting. Irrational Games is defunct (creators of BioShock) so that's a no-go. not too sure who would else would be a great developer for that game though. then again, them selling the Dishonored I.P would be interesting. I personally didn't like Deathloop but it did sell fairly well all things considered. Prey was incredibly underrated, Dishonored 2 was an absolute disaster at launch which turned a lot of people away, and. I think they just had bad luck aside from Deathloop. Keep in mind that they obviously have more in the bank from the sales of their previous games but. ![]() enough for a single triple A game with good marketing or 2 with awful marketing. after taxes and cuts, that's only $168 million in profit. Deathloops budget was roughly $50 - 85 million dollars and it sold about 5 million copies in total. They didn't do well in terms of sales for Prey, Dishonored 2, and Deathloop. ![]() At worst, they might just merge the Lyon and Austin branches back into one again and that was sort of coming as is given the amount of talent the Austin branch bled out after Prey 2017 bombed and Arkane's original CEO left and brought a bunch of the veterans of Arkane to create WolfEye Studios. Regardless, I agree with specialghost's sentiments that they're probably not going to kill Arkane no matter how badly Redfall does. All they care about is getting more player numbers + systems in people's households (may that be an Xbox or their OS systems) and the rest of their divisions cover up any expenses (they're a 2 trillion dollar company for a reason). Even during the peak of the 360 days they were losing money from it. You are correct but ultimately that's always been Microsoft's style for their games division. That's means big spenders of games no longer are putting in that kind of money. Will Starfield also be on Gamepass because nobody would buy it elsewhere?įrom what I understand Gamepass impacts longterm sales of games.įor example if I use gamepass I would save about $2k AUD a year. Was Hi-Fi Rush also on Gamepass because nobody would have bought it otherwise? Wrong. Now, the cat's out of the bag and fans are speculating about a potential expansion or DLC for Deathloop. It's on Gamepass because that's Microsofts plan all along. In spite of their best efforts, hawk-eared fans had already heard enough. The tone in the room changes and they try to move on to a different topic. Yes, I can't say em cause they're still sometimes hiring us under the codenames. When asked about codenames, Jason had this to say: In a recent YouTube interview, Jason Kelley, the voice actor of the game's protagonist, Colt, let it slip that he and Ozioma Akagha, the voice actress of Julianna, the game's antagonist, are still under contract with Arkane Studios. We're just hoping that the post-launch content for Deathloop will be available on both the PS5 and Xbox Series S/X. If we believe the recent sightings, Deathloop, the studio's latest game, might be leaning more towards the latter as far as its post-launch content plans go. The game's sequel launched in 2016 and got a standalone expansion one year later, Dishonored: Death of the Outsider. Case in point, Dishonored, which came out in 2012, enjoyed two well-received post-launch story content: The Knife of Dunwall and The Brigmore Witches. Arkane Studios is known for releasing memorable DLCs and standalone expansions for its games. ![]()
